  1. “Different from most ports but still interesting.”
This is for the Historical Trujillo Tour. The tour is short, a little more than 1 hour. Our guide was excellent and never stopped giving us info on the people and city. As many have said, Trujillo is poor but the local folks seem very friendly and respectful. The vehicles used are old and they fit right in with the city and country. Mostly dirt/mud roads. Not a bad place just very depressed. This tour was definitely worth our time and is probably the only way we could see the Fort and Plaza up on the hill where we stopped and walked a little. The actual tender port has many souvenir and food shops and you can walk into the town on your own if you wish. Don’t miss the top of the locomotive sticking out above the waves at the beach. For us, this was not a place to view the magnificent riches from the past but rather a place to perhaps enrich our own cultural understanding of other people.

  2. “Historical Trujillo”
It was 84 degrees first week of Dec when we took this tour. Our guide Lenard did a great job of pointing out the history of the town. He made a couple of stops to let us get off the tram to look around. This tour was well worth the money.

  3. “Trujillo Honduras Town Tour”
We recently took a short tour of the town of Trujillo, Honduras with Banana Coast Tours. Our Norwegian Cruise ship anchored off shore and we were transported to the town pier by the ship’s tenders. Our Banana Coast tour guide (Oscar) was informative about the town history and VERY helpful with one of our family members that has limited mobility. While the town is very poor, it was nice visiting somewhere that is not so commercialized. There were a lot of vendors set up near the center of town selling their goods but it was a different feel from Cozumel or similar places, it made me feel good buying from them. From what I understand, this is a new destination for the cruise ships and we were only the 5th ship that had stopped there, the ships usually stop at the island of Roatan. We had to cut the day in Trujillo short because of bad weather but given the opportunity we would definitely go back and spend more time. If you’re getting ready to select a cruise and you have a choice in going to Trujillo, I would suggest trying it for a change of pace, you’ll be glad you did.

  4. Norwegian Cruise Line
We feel the cruise lines need to develop this stop. This area has a lot of potential and will ultimately reap great rewards. This is where the “Pirates of the Caribbean” really occurred. It would be a shame to cross this port off the list of ports of call. History abounds here.
